The Housing Authority

The Housing Authority is the national housing agency in Malta which develops new housing and administers social housing blocks. This public authority is also responsible in improving housing conditions in Malta. The Housing Authority has been implementing energy efficient measures in social housing units since 2004. These measures include shading devices, double glazing, roof insulation, solar water heaters, runoff collection and efficient use of water.

The Housing Authority promotes and encourages home ownership amongst first time buyers. Grants for restructure or rehabilitation and subsidy on interest rates on home loans and grants on loan repayment are provided for first-time buyers.

From 1st October to 15th June: 9:00am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 3:00pm
From 16th June to 30th September 9:00am – 12:00pm

Customer Care Opening Hours:

From 1st October to 15th June: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00am to 11:30am.
From 16th June to 30th September: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am to 12:00pm.
