Law, Rights and Responsibilities

The Law is a system of rules usually enforced through a set of institutions that include mainly the Courts of Justice and Police. It shapes politics, economics and society in numerous ways and serves as a primary social mediator of relations between people. On the other hand, rights are normative principles. The concept of rights is fundamental to civilized societies although there is considerable disagreement amongst different groups and thinkers about what is meant precisely by the term. Every right implies a responsibility and a balance between rights and responsibilities must always be ensured.
