Transport and Travel

The physical dimensions of our Islands and efficient road networking make travelling throughout our islands relatively easy. Public Transport is an efficient and relatively cheap way to travel from one locality to another with a central bus terminus in Valletta and another one in Rabat Gozo. The frequency of the service is higher in certain localities such as the Airport. The service is also extended at night for entertainment areas like Paceville. Transport by personal vehicles is still the preferred option by citizens although parking problems are on the increase. Taxi services are more popular with foreigners especially for trips from/to the National Airport. Airmalta, the national airline operates flights to/from several destinations. A ferry service connects the two islands with frequent services both during the day and at night.
